K-2 Social Studies Teachers: Our division is collaborating with a JMU elementary social studies methods professor, Alexa Quinn, to study the implementation of our new K-2 inquiry units developed through Reframing the Narrative. If you’re interested in contributing to this study, please complete this survey to provide feedback on any of the inquiry units you’ve taught so far this year. This first part of the study is unpaid; regardless, your feedback is super valuable!

If you wish to participate in the second part (the paid portion) of the study:

  • Please provide your contact information on the survey linked above. Dr. Quinn will reach out to you to coordinate times to observe your students learning through inquiry and debrief with you afterward.
  • The experience would be similar to sessions you might have with an instructional coach, not requiring a lot of extra time or effort on your part.
  • You will need to let your principal know that Dr. Quinn will be in your building to observe and debrief with you.
  • You will be compensated with a $75.00 gift card.

Please reach out to Dr. Quinn at quinn4am@jmu.edu and Neeley Minton if you have any additional questions or if you’d like to discuss this opportunity with teachers who participated in the research study last year.
