2023-24 Redistricting Study – Superintendent’s Recommendation

In August 2023, the school board directed the superintendent to convene a redistricting advisory committee to conduct a study to evaluate boundary changes in response to immediate enrollment challenges at Baker-Butler, Stony Point, and Woodbrook elementary schools. The study also informed long-term planning for a new elementary school scheduled to open for the 2029-30 school year.

The committee, composed of parent and community representatives, was convened and met seven times. Feedback was received at community meetings, through a community survey, and via email.

At the Feb. 22 board meeting, Chief Operating Officer, Rosalyn Schmitt, presented the Superintendent’s Recommendation, which reflected the committee’s recommendation without modification. The board will hold a public hearing on March 14 and will vote on the recommendation during that meeting. If approved, boundary changes will be implemented for the 2024-25 school year.

More information about the redistricting study is available on the Redistricting Advisory Committee 2023-24 web page.
