Board Meeting Highlights
Following are highlights from the school board meeting on April 25, 2024. You can view the full April 25 meeting agenda in ESB. You can also watch a recording of the April 25 meeting on our YouTube page.
Policy Review & Revisions
Virginia Code requires all school board policies to be reviewed at least every five years and revised as needed. On April 25, one policy was presented for action: BDDH, Public Participation at School Board Meetings.
And, three policies were presented for information:
- GCL, Professional Development
- JOF, Security Cameras
- BHH, Student Representative to the School Board

FY 25 Budget Adoption
Maya Kumazawa, Director of Budget and Planning, presented final recommendations for revisions to the FY 25 Funding Request, which included updates in School Fund revenues and expenditures. In turn, the school board adopted a balanced FY 25 budget of $269,407,627 for the School Fund and $25,953,238 for Special Revenue Funds.
