NEA Foundation Grants – Next Deadline: October 15

The NEA FoundationThe National Education Association (NEA) Foundation offers two grant opportunities for educators: Student Achievement Grants and Learning & Leadership Grants. Three grant deadlines are established annually: February 1, June 1, and October 15. Two levels of funding are available: $2,000 and $5,000. Virginia License Plate Design Contest: Take Action Against Distraction – Enter by Dec. 15

DMV Take Action Against DistractionIn 2016, 13 Virginians were killed and more than 800 injured in crashes involving a distracted teen driver. That’s why Virginia DMV is launching a statewide license plate design contest for high school students (grades 9-12). The “Take Action Against Distraction” License Plate Design Contest aims to start the conversation and raise awareness about distracted driving. Also, it provides an opportunity for students to share their visual arts skills for a worthy cause and potentially save a life. Entries will be accepted from November 1 – December 15, 2017.
