Registration Now Open for DLI Sessions on August 18

PD Course Catalog 2017-18The Summer 2017 PD Course Catalog has been updated with sessions being offered on August 18. This summer, all licensed instructional staff must participate in at least two 3-hour sessions that support our Digital Learning Initiative (DLI). If you are a teacher who did not meet this requirement in July, please make sure to register! Apply for a GreenWorks! Grant by September 30

PLT GreenWorksProject Learning Tree (PLT) offers GreenWorks! grants up to $1,000 to schools and youth organizations for environmental service-learning projects that link classroom learning to the real world. Students implement an action project they help design to green their school or to improve an aspect of their neighborhood’s environment.

To be eligible, applicants must have attended a PLT training, either in-person or online. The annual deadline to apply is September 30. Funding will be distributed in December 2017.

Like Peanut Butter and Jelly: Uniting the 5Cs and the SOL

VASCDStudents need to build skills in the 5Cs* in order to succeed in the world outside of school. But how can teachers focus on these skills and still meet the demands of the Standards of Learning? The Virginia Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (VASCD) invites you to attend Like Peanut Butter and Jelly: Uniting the 5Cs and the SOL to learn an intentional planning process that will help your students develop the 5Cs and master SOL content at the same time. Choose from one of three sessions:

Elementary teachers (K-5):  Apply by October 1 for a $1,000 grant to help bring an innovative hands-on project into your classroom. Learn how to apply »
