School Performance Report Card Survey

VDOE LogoThe Virginia Department of Education is asking parents and other members of the public to complete a 16-item online survey on improving annual School Performance Report Cards for schools, school divisions, and the commonwealth. Revision in License Renewal Requirements

2015 General AssemblyThe 2015 General Assembly passed House Bill 1320 that amended requirements for license renewal as follows:

Every person seeking renewal of a license shall complete all renewal requirements, including professional development in a manner prescribed by the Board, except that no person seeking renewal of a license shall be required to satisfy any such requirement by completing coursework and earning credit at an institution of higher education. Chesapeake Bay Trust Mini Grants (up to $5,000) – Apply by August 7

Chesapeake Bay Trust LogoThe Chesapeake Bay Trust Mini Grant Program was established to provide accessible funds to schools, organizations and agencies to educate students about their local watersheds and how they can become environmental stewards and make a difference in watershed health. To accomplish this goal, the program supports meaningful outdoor learning experiences around a watershed issue investigation, including field trips, fieldwork, student-led action projects and schoolyard habitat projects, as well as building teacher capacity to implement environmental education, including professional development trainings and programs to advance environmental literacy in the Chesapeake Bay region. The deadline is August 7 at 5 p.m. Get the scoop»
