What Does Kronos Mean for Me?

Kronos Time and Attendance

Depending on your role and work schedule, you may use Kronos differently than others. Please see below for an overview of what to expect. Your training will be specific to your role and needs.

Classified Non-Exempt Employees

Most employees who get paid hourly fall into this category.

You’ll use Kronos to:

  • Log in and out to accurately indicate the hours you work.
  • Request leave.
  • Monitor your leave usage and balance.

Teachers

This includes all contracted employees on the teacher pay scale.

You’ll use Kronos to:

  • Request leave.
  • Monitor your leave usage and balance.

You will not use Kronos to request a substitute. You’ll still use Frontline (Aesop) for that.

Classified Exempt Employees

Most employees in this category are in a supervisory role.

You’ll use Kronos to:

  • Request leave.
  • Monitor your leave usage and balance.

Please stay tuned to the Compass for Kronos implementation updates. For project details, you can visit the Time & Attendance System Project web page hosted by Albemarle County Human Resources through their Employee Resources website. You also may email questions to time@albemarle.org.
