Rivanna Solid Waste Authority Will Host Multiple Special Waste Collection Days This Fall

Mark your calendar! Rivanna Solid Waste Authority will host the following special waste collection days this fall at the Ivy Materials Utilization Center (MUC), located at 4576 Dick Woods Road in Charlottesville: Residential Household Hazardous Waste Days on September 27 and 28; Bulky Waste Amnesty Days on October 5, 12 and 19; and an Electronic Waste Collection Day on October 26.

Residential Household Hazardous Waste Days: Sept. 27 & 28

Household Hazardous Waste Collection at the Ivy MUC will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, September 27 and 28.

Free and available to residents of Albemarle County, Charlottesville, and Scottsville, and available to Nelson County residents who obtain a voucher from Nelson County government.

Bulky Waste Amnesty Days: Oct. 5, 12 & 19

The next Bulky Waste Special Collection will be held at the Ivy MUC from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 5 (furniture and mattresses); Saturday, October 12 (appliances); and Saturday, October 19 (tires).

Free and available to residents of Albemarle County, Charlottesville, and Scottsville.

Electronic Waste Collection Day: Oct. 26

Rivanna Solid Waste Authority will host an Electronic Waste Collection Day on Saturday, October 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ivy MUC. To participate, residents must preregister for this event beginning Tuesday, October 1, at 8 a.m. Acceptable e-waste includes computers/laptops and accessories; printers/scanners/fax machines; VCRs; stereos; and televisions.

Free and available to residents of Albemarle County and Charlottesville.
