School Board Approves Pay Increases in Response to Comprehensive Study

Salary Increase sign

Moving quickly to implement the findings of a comprehensive study and analysis of its ability to recruit and retain a high-quality workforce, the school board, at their meeting on October 27, 2022, approved recommendations from the Department of Human Resources to move forward with a series of pay increases for key positions beginning in December. Please read our October 28 news release for details!

Among the positions affected by the board’s decision are bus drivers; school nurses who hold licensure as a Registered Nurse; hard-to-fill positions, including positions in Building Services, Technology, and Transportation; as well as others. The board also approved a second phase of salary adjustments that will take effect on April 1, 2023, and will impact office associates and various positions in Building Services, Child Nutrition, Communications, Finance, and Technology.

As part of the next fiscal year budget, the school board will consider salary adjustments for additional positions, among them school psychologists, social workers, and therapists. Separately, the board will decide at their meeting on November 10 whether to fund a one-time $1,000 bonus for all employees that would be provided in early December.
