Are you interested in helping support students who are experiencing mental health challenges? Albemarle County Public Schools is excited to offer three Mental Health First Aid training opportunities this July 25, 26 and 27… available to all staff!
Mental Health First Aid helps individuals assist someone who is experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, participants learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help. The Department of Technology has partnered with the Department of Instruction to acquire a single sign-on (SSO) system called ClassLink. This system will allow teachers and students to use their ACPS username and password to log in to ClassLink LaunchPad, where they will be able to access all approved teaching and learning tools. Teachers and other licensed positions who were reappointed by the school board on May 25 will receive their contracts in ADP by end-of-day on Thursday, June 1. This year, we will send all licensed contracts through ADP on a rolling basis between May 26 and June 1. These contracts are due to be electronically signed by Friday, June 9. Human Resources (HR) recommends checking your ADP account at the end of each day until your contract hits your account.
