ACPS Summer Coding Camp: Now Seeking Facilitators; Info Session on March 14

The Department of Technology is seeking facilitators for this summer’s ACPS Coding Camp. ACPS Coding Camp is a coding academy that provides Albemarle County Public Schools elementary and middle school students with opportunities for creativity, innovation and fun.

ACPS Coding Camp provides the perfect opportunity to practice integrating our Computer Science and Digital Learning Integration Standards of Learning in a low-risk environment. Facilitators who participate in required professional development days and at least one session of ACPS Coding Camp will receive fair compensation and 20 recertification points.

Coding Camp Calendar

ACPS Coding Camp will be held at Center I on the dates below, each afternoon following the summer school program. Facilitators will commit to 4 hours per day, including 3 hours with campers.

  • Session 1 (Elementary): July 8-11
  • Session 2 (Middle): July 15-18
  • Session 3 (Elementary): July 22-25

These dates are subject to facilitator interest! Coding Camp facilitators should expect to arrive a half hour before campers and stay afterward to clean up and debrief. Facilitators may sign up for individual weeks or more than one week. Orientation and professional development will be hosted for facilitators on June 28 and July 12, 19 and 26.
