Beginning at 6 p.m. this evening, Tuesday, September 10, REBOOT Recovery will offer a two-hour per week, 12-week course focused on the spiritual aspects of combat recovery. Coming up on June 15, ACPS will host a Volunteer & Partner Appreciation Breakfast at The Center at 491 Hillsdale Drive from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. We will honor those who have given freely of their time to volunteer in response to the needs of our schools, as well as the community partners who have provided so much support.
Invitations were mailed on May 16, but we want to make sure we didn’t miss anyone. If you know of volunteers who should be invited, please send names to Gloria Rockhold, Community Engagement Manager, as soon as possible. Thank you!

In conjunction with the Defense Affairs Committee, a component of the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce, Assistant County Executive Trevor Henry hopes to (1) raise the awareness of upcoming events and resources related to military/veteran activities in our community, and (2) strengthen the military/veteran support network internal to Albemarle County staff. The conference will be on June 1 at Jouett Middle School from 9 to 2 p.m. This is our most exciting event of the year, as we honor and highlight the work of educators in our division who investigate what it means to embrace diverse student experiences, tailor instruction to reflect cultural landscapes, incorporate families and communities, and evolve as a culturally responsive educational community.
