ACPS is now accepting applications for the 2024-25 school year for Novice Teacher Instructional Coach and Instructional Coach positions. Internal and external candidates (including former ACPS instructional coaches) are welcome to apply for one or both positions. Instructional coaching experience is preferred for the Novice Teacher Instructional Coach position, and a micro-credential or certification in culturally responsive teaching is preferred for both positions. Homebound Instructors Needed!

If you are a licensed teacher, or provisionally licensed, and would like to supplement your income doing homebound instruction, please contact Ashby Kindler via email or by phone at 434-249-6491. The pay rate is $30 per hour. Typically, students receive 10 hours per week of academic instruction for high school, 8 hours per week for middle school, and 6 hours per week for elementary school. Instruction may be provided in person or virtually.

Currently, we are in immediate need of a teacher for a first grader, 6 hours per week, virtual instruction preferred.

Summer School Employment Opportunities

We need pre-K through grade 8 classroom teachers, teaching assistants, ESOL teachers, and site administrators (admin interns). We are also looking for teachers for our English Learner High School program.

Interested in Driving a Bus to Earn Additional Pay?

Are you interested in earning some extra money? Have you ever considered taking on a bus route outside of your regular workday? That’s now a possibility… come drive a school bus! Worried that you don’t have a commercial driver’s license (CDL)? That’s not a problem! Our Transportation Services Department has a training program that will allow you to earn your CDL in time to drive for the 2023-24 school year! If you already have a CDL, you may be able to start driving sooner!
