Signed Contracts for Licensed Staff Due June 10

Teachers and other licensed positions who were reappointed by the school board on May 23 will receive their contracts in ADP by end-of-day on Monday, May 27. Similar to last year, we will send all licensed contracts through ADP on a rolling basis from May 24-27. These contracts are due to be electronically signed by Monday, June 10. Human Resources (HR) recommends checking your ADP account at the end of each day until your contract hits your account.

Teaching Assistants Survey

Attention Teaching Assistants: ACPS Human Resources (HR) has developed a short survey to help us find out the level of education our current teaching assistants have attained. Also, based on federal requirements that determine highly qualified status, we are trying to identify which of our current teaching assistants can be classified as “highly qualified.” Knowing this information allows HR to develop programming for teaching assistants who need additional education to reach their career goals, and it helps us keep more detailed records for state reporting. Our HMH Into Reading representatives aimed to familiarize you with the various components of HMH Into Reading and where to find them online, and how to access Teacher’s Corner, the professional learning piece of HMH Ed. Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Announces Free Admission to Samurai Armor Exhibition for Teachers

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) in Richmond is offering preschool and K-12 teachers (public and private schools) and Commonwealth of Virginia employees free admission to the new exhibition, Samurai Armor from the Collection of Ann & Gabriel Barbier-Mueller. The exhibition is available at VMFA through August 4, 2024. Commonwealth employees and educators should call 804-340-1405 to make their reservations and show their employee IDs or badges at the Visitor Services Desk in the museum when picking up their tickets. One free ticket is available per badge.

Refer a Bus Driver & Receive a $1,000 Bonus

Albemarle County Public Schools is looking for bus drivers and hoping that our employees may be able to help! Every employee can help recruit by sharing information about these positions and the joy of serving the community by working with children and students.

Any ACPS employee who refers a candidate who successfully completes training will receive a $1,000 bonus! (The applicant must list the ACPS employee’s name to qualify for the bonus.) In addition, that driver will receive a $2,000 sign-on bonus once they earn their CDL license and receive a route assignment. Continue reading
