Submit your proposal for a mini-grant for any amount up to $500 by 4:30 p.m. on June 2, 2014. Mini-grants will be awarded on September 2, 2014. View the proposal guidelines.

Stratford Hall Summer Institute for Teachers, July 16-19

Stratford HallFrom the afternoon of July 16 through noon on July 19, 2014, teachers from across Virginia and the nation will have the opportunity to experience life on an 18th century colonial plantation, Stratford Hall, on the Potomac River south of Washington, D.C. The 4th Annual Stratford Hall Summer Institute will focus on Stratford Hall, the Lee family, and the Atlantic world in the revolutionary period.  Topics of study will include slavery, politics of revolution in Virginia, domestic life, and the relationship of private life to public affairs of the American Revolution.
