Several groups will be meeting on Thursday, September 3, for the final half-day of division meetings during our pre-service days. Please review the Schedule of Meetings. If you are not part of any of the scheduled meetings on the morning of September 3, then the full day is yours to use as a teacher workday.

Attention all K-5 teachers: You’re invited to attend a brief informational meeting about a Content Opportunities Course we will be offering this fall. The course aims to support implementation of inquiry-based curricula in science and social studies. A strong group of teachers, coaches and LTIs will collaborate to support this work. Required Safety Training for K-8 Science Teachers

Attention all elementary and middle school science teachers: All K-8 science teachers need to participate in safety training. The VDOE is offering two safety webinars on August 31 at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. As another option, ACPS Lead Coach Katina Dudley will be offering a safety training opportunity on September 3 during division PLC. Summer Professional Development Sessions Are Ready!

This summer, our required professional development (PD) sessions are asynchronous and online. Sessions are housed in Schoology and can be accessed starting Wednesday, July 15. You can click here to sign in to Schoology or click on the Schoology icon on the ACPS Info for Staff page. You will use your ACPS username and password to sign in. (Note: If you have trouble accessing an item in Schoology, consider trying a different browser.)

You will receive 6 recertification points for completing the modules. Documentation of your participation will be done through Schoology and the completion of exit tickets within the sessions. Modules are open for completion from July 15 to August 31. Continue reading
