VDOE-Sponsored Intel Elements Professional Development

VDOE LogoThe Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) provides six-week, facilitated online courses through a grant with Intel. These professional development courses are available to educators in Virginia at no cost. The courses are conducted all online (no face-to-face meetings needed) and take approximately 30 hours, or 5 hours per week, to complete. The courses are facilitated by Virginia educators. Participants will receive a certificate at the end that can be used towards 30 recertification points. Registration for the Winter 2016 session (January 20 – March 2) ends January 6, 2016.

Free “CARE for Teachers” Workshop, December 4-6

CARE for TeachersTeachers! The University of Virginia’s Curry School of Education invites you to participate for free in the “CARE for Teachers” professional development program. CARE (Cultivating Awareness and Resilience in Education) is a unique program designed to promote teachers’ own well-being and resilience. The program will begin Friday, December 4, from 6 to 8 p.m., and will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, December 5 and 6. Lunch and snacks will be served. There are a limited number of slots available. If you are interested in joining us and able to attend all three days, please complete this screening form.
