benefitsFOCUS: Anthem cards are on their way! What you need to know …

benefitsFOCUSWhat’s the BIG news?

Your new Anthem cards are on their way! Once they arrive, please review both sets carefully and contact us if you need assistance.

Some useful things to know:

  • If you are enrolled in our medical and dental plans, you will receive your cards in separate mailings.
  • After you receive your cards, you can register for online account access (you’ll need to create separate accounts for medical and for dental). Please note that the sites will not be fully functional until the effective date of the coverage (10/1/16).
  • Dental plan enrollees: you should be sent individually labeled cards for each family member you have enrolled in the dental plan. After you’ve received your cards, you can register for dental account access.
  • Albemarle Select plan (our traditional medical plan) enrollees: if you have spouse/dependent coverage, you’ll receive two cards in the primary enrollee’s name only. After you’ve received your cards, be sure to create an account and verify your plan election and your covered dependents (if applicable). If you need additional cards, you can request these via your account access or by calling their customer service line.
  • Albemarle Choice plan (our Consumer Driven High Deductible plan with Health Savings Account) enrollees: if you have spouse/dependent coverage, you will receive individually labeled cards for each covered member. (Individually labeled cards streamlines coordination with your Health Savings Account). After you’ve received your cards, you can create an account.
  • Remember to use your new Anthem cards on/after 10/1 and be sure to let your providers know that you’ve had a change in plan administrators and group/ID numbers.
  • Keep reading your benefitsFOCUS newsletters to learn how you can use mobile tools to access your account information—including your ID cards!
