Message from the CFO: Update on the Availability of 1095-C Forms

The following message is from Nelsie Birch, Chief Financial Officer for Albemarle County:

On March 3rd, the Office of the CFO received notification that personal information was incorrect on a small percentage of 1095-C forms. We immediately took steps to deactivate employee access to the forms through Greenshades and initiated a full investigation, which includes an audit.

We identified the root cause originated with our third party vendor, Greenshades, who currently processes W-2 and 1095-C forms for Albemarle County. The ACIT, Risk Management, and Greenshades’ incident management team are finalizing their investigation of this incident. We will be taking additional, protective steps in the future to alleviate the issues experienced with Greenshades.

We are confident that this error was contained and believe we have contacted all of the employees involved. Corrected 2021 1095-C forms will be mailed to your home address and are also now available through Greenshades. As you know, Albemarle County takes cybersecurity and the security of personnel information seriously.
