Important Paycheck Information for 10- and 11-Month Employees

As we close out this school year, the ACPS Department of Human Resources extends our sincerest thanks for all you have done for our students during the school year. Every single ACPS employee impacts student growth and learning and supports Albemarle County families. Your hard work has made a difference this year!

Attention 10- and 11-Month Employees: Given the Payroll Clarity transition that started in January, we want to provide information that may be helpful for you as we head into summer. This information is in addition to the benefitsFOCUS message we shared earlier today that addresses benefits deductions over the summer. (If you are a supervisor reading this, please ensure that your employees have this information, and answer their questions with the support of the HR team.)

Exempt 10- and 11-Month Employees

Ten- and 11-month exempt employees (those who are not eligible for overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act) will continue to receive paychecks throughout the summer:

  • The last paycheck for 10-month teachers and 10-month exempt classified employees for the 2021-22 school year will be on August 19, 2022. The first paycheck of the 2022-23 school year (reflecting step increases and other salary adjustments) will be two weeks later, on September 2, 2022.
  • The last 2021-22 paycheck for 11-month teachers and 11-month exempt classified employees will be on July 22, 2022. The 11-month exempt pay cycle for the 2022-23 school year will start on August 5, 2022, and will reflect step increases and other salary adjustments.

Non-Exempt 10- and 11-Month Employees

Most 10-month non-exempt employees (those who are eligible for overtime) will receive their final paycheck for regularly-scheduled school year work on June 24, 2022. Non-exempt employees working beyond June 17 will receive their final pay for the 2021-22 school year on July 8, 2022.

Non-exempt 10- and 11-month employees will only receive pay during the summer if they work additional hours (e.g., summer school, other assignments) beyond their regular calendar schedules. Employees in this group have paid for their benefits for the summer already and continue to be able to access those benefits.
