Lexia In-Person Training: March 7 & 29

Elementary & Middle School Teachers: As we prepare to deploy Lexia in schools, the company is offering two in-person professional learning opportunities for ACPS educators. Lexia will offer in-person training this Thursday, March 7, and on Friday, March 29. The in-person training is not required, but it offers a chance to ask questions and receive Lexia’s traditional online training in a more personal way. Employee Engagement Survey Opens Today: Participate by March 22!

As we shared last week, our 2024 Employee Engagement Survey opens today! Again this year, Albemarle County Public Schools has partnered with Gallup, a global analytics and advice firm, to help us better understand and measure our employee engagement. Today, all non-temporary employees will receive an email directly from Gallup <support@mail.gallup.com> containing a link to participate in their Q12 Employee Engagement Survey. The subject line of the survey invitation will read, “[EXTERNAL]Albemarle County Public Schools Employee Engagement Survey,” and the email will contain a unique survey link that will take you to the secure Gallup website where you can take the survey confidentially. This brief survey should take less than five minutes of your time, and we ask that you participate by Friday, March 22. Continue reading

WeVideo: The Media Editor You’ve Always Wanted!

The Department of Technology is excited to announce our new video, audio and screencast editing platform: WeVideo! Earlier this year, Microsoft discontinued the availability of the Video Editor on student and staff devices, requiring us to find an alternative. We’ve heard your feedback, and we’ve made WeVideo available to all instructional staff and students in grades 3-12. Continue reading

Spring Break Intersession: Interested in Tutoring?

As we shared in a November Compass post, as part of our ALL In Virginia tutoring plan, we are preparing to run an intersession during Spring Break for interested students in grades 3-8. Tutoring sessions will be held Tuesday-Friday, April 2-5, from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in central locations. Class ratios will be kept at about 5:1.
