In tandem with the news release, the VDOE provided school divisions with talking points (Key Messages on 2018-2019 SOL Test Results) about the performance of students and schools on last year’s assessments.

Today, Tuesday, August 20, every student’s ACPS Network Account Password will reset to their student lunch number. New students will receive their ACPS network information at their school.

The start of a new school year brings increased requests from financial services vendors who wish to have access to our employees. They may indicate that they are “official” County vendors and have Human Resources Department approval to present information about their products to staff. Unless information about these presentations comes directly from the Human Resources Department, you should be aware that none of these vendors has such an endorsement. Continue reading

Welcome back! I hope you all had an enjoyable and rejuvenating summer. I want to remind everyone that we will be implementing Kronos, our new time and attendance system, this fall. Implementation for all employees will begin on October 19, 2019.
Kronos will replace our current manual and paper-based timekeeping, attendance, and leave tracking processes. Continue reading
Each fiscal year (July through June), all 12-month regular employees receive 12 paid holidays, with additional holidays added at the discretion of the School Board. See the Holiday Schedule for a complete list of holidays granted to 12-month school employees in the 2019-20 school year.

Calling all musicians! The Albemarle County Concert Band is open to people of all ability levels and performance experiences who are interested in playing in a concert band and making music together. As part of a normal replacement cycle, the Department of Technology recently installed a new email filter appliance as a security measure for all of our digital communications and our network. This appliance filters out SPAM from all of our email accounts.
Beginning August 1, 2019, the subject line of emails will contain [EXTERNAL] for any email that comes to your inbox from outside of our ACPS network. You also will see [POSSIBLE SPAM] in the subject line of emails let through our email filter that may be spam. Continue reading
