Action for Healthy KidsAction for Healthy Kids is offering two grant opportunities to help schools implement health and wellness practices: Up to 550 schools will receive School Breakfast Grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 to support increased breakfast participation, and 500 schools will be awarded Game On Grants ranging from $500 to $2,500 for physical activity and nutrition initiatives that promote student health. Avoid Delayed Retirement Benefits: Submit Your VRS Application by April 1

StoryFest Is Next Week, March 16-20

VA FOB 2016The Virginia Festival of the Book’s annual schedule of kid-friendly programs, collectively known as StoryFest, will take place March 16-20. Kids will have the chance to meet favorite authors, learn how to make mini-comics, read and share new picture books and comics, and get writing advice from experienced authors with bestselling young adult books. Greening STEM Integration Grant – Apply by April 5

NEEF LogoThe National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), with major funding support from the Mitsubishi Corporation Foundation for the Americas (MCFA), is offering funding for teachers, after-school programs, and nature organizations for projects that support the integration of Greening STEM into current or new programming or curriculum. Grants range from $500 to $1,000 and may be applied to program delivery costs, including curriculum development, field trips, program supplies, transportation, professional development, and more.
