Content Opportunities Course for K-5 Teachers Starts Sept. 14

Attention all K-5 teachers: You’re invited to the first meeting of our Content Opportunities Course on September 14 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. The course, which we will offer monthly, aims to support implementation of inquiry-based curricula in science and social studies as outlined in the pacing guide. A great group of teachers, coaches and LTIs are collaborating to support his work, and participants are eligible for recertification points. Continue reading

The ACPS Asynchronous Activity Bank can now be accessed via the Seesaw School/District lesson bank.

What it is:

  • Instructional coaches and talent development resource teachers will create and maintain this activity bank to support asynchronous learning on Fridays. These Seesaw activities can serve as the entire learning plan for Friday or supplement plans you have in place. Continue reading

Don’t Forget to Complete the Required COVID-19 Safety Training by Sept. 8!

Important

In compliance with state code and in partnership with the Virginia Occupational Safety and Health (VOSH) Program, ACPS has developed a two-part COVID-19 Safety Training for employees. As a reminder, every ACPS employee, regardless of position, should complete this training by Tuesday, September 8 (the first day of school).

Step 1 involves watching a 22-minute training video. Step 2 (the final step) asks employees to certify that they have watched the training video by completing a brief form. Continue reading

Sept. 3 Division Level Meeting Schedule

Several groups will be meeting on Thursday, September 3, for the final half-day of division meetings during our pre-service days. Please review the Schedule of Meetings. If you are not part of any of the scheduled meetings on the morning of September 3, then the full day is yours to use as a teacher workday.

Required COVID-19 Safety Training – Complete by Sept. 8

Action Required

In compliance with State Code §16VAC25-60-220, Emergency Temporary Standard for COVID-19 Infectious Disease Prevention, Albemarle County Public Schools is requiring ALL STAFF to complete COVID-19 Employee Safety Training. As we continue the Return to School plan, it is important that all employees are aware of how to stay safe at school and work. Employees should complete Steps 1 and 2 by Tuesday, September 8, 2020.
