April is Month of the Military Child, and Wednesday, April 17, is “Purple Up! For Military Kids” Day!

“Purple Up! For Military Kids” is a day set aside for everyone around the nation to show their support for military-connected students. The Virginia Department of Education encourages school communities, including teachers, principals, students, parents, bus drivers, etc., to wear purple on Wednesday, April 17, to show support for our military students and appreciation for their strength and sacrifices. Calling All Veterans

Tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday, November 2, the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors will begin their 1:00 meeting by honoring all veterans employed by Albemarle County Public Schools and Local Government with a Resolution of Appreciation. All employees who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces are invited to attend.

Also, the County of Albemarle welcomes your attendance at the Veterans Day ceremony to be led by American Legion Post 74 on Friday, November 11, at 11 a.m. Continue reading
