Your annual benefits Open Enrollment window (November 1st through November 16th) begins next week! This Open Enrollment window is the final step needed to transition our medical, dental and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) plan years to run on a calendar year basis. Get Your Flu Shot HereBeWell Albemarle has partnered with Giant Pharmacy to offer onsite flu clinics at 50+ Albemarle County locations in October and November! All Albemarle County employees (including part-time and temporary employees, substitutes, interns, and student teachers) and public safety volunteers (Fire Rescue, Police, Sheriff’s Office) are eligible to receive flu and Tdap vaccinations with no out-of-pocket cost, even if you are not covered through the County’s health plan. Fresh Farmacy Workplace Wellness Program – Enrollment Extended to Sept. 6!

BeWell Albemarle has partnered with Local Food Hub to bring fresh, local produce to County employees. You can eat great food AND support our local farmers! The Fresh Farmacy program requires 25 or more participants for each location (COB McIntire, Agnor-Hurt Elementary School, Monticello Fire Rescue, ACPD Crozet Satellite Office).

12-Month Pay Schedule for All Employees Goes Into Effect July 1

Albemarle County LogoAt their May 10 meeting, the School Board approved placing all employees on a 12-month pay schedule effective July 1. This unification of pay schedules for all employees will make it easier and more efficient to process compensation and benefits for the entire organization.

Approximately 450 employees, who currently are paid on either a 10- or 11-month schedule, will be impacted by this change. Continue reading
