4th Annual WinterSongs Benefit Concert – Feb. 24

WinterSongs 2018Saturday, February 24, 2018 | 5 p.m. | Monticello High School Auditorium

The 4th annual WinterSongs benefit concert is coming up on Saturday, February 24! Young women vocalists from 11 area schools will come together to raise money for the Shelter for Help in Emergency, which provides aid, counseling and protection for victims of domestic abuse. Admission to the concert is free, but donations to the Shelter are encouraged at the door. View the event poster »

I'm DeterminedSpread the word! The 2018 I’m Determined Youth & Parent Summit is now accepting applications. If you know of youth, ages 13-21, who would benefit from a fun-filled, youth-led summer summit focusing on self-determination skills, please share this announcement with them. Free World Peace Game Master Class With John Hunter – Informational Meeting on Feb. 8

World Peace Game FoundationAlbemarle County is sponsoring teachers to participate in a World Peace Game Master Class in Charlottesville from June 18-22. Using John Hunter’s World Peace Game as an inspiring and challenging analogy, master class participants observe Hunter facilitating the game live with students each morning. Afternoon sessions focus on introducing teachers to the guiding philosophy and pedagogical principles that underlie the game; essential attributes necessary to facilitate the game; and designing learning that is inspired by the principles and spirit of the game.
