At their meeting on November 10, the Albemarle County School Board granted 12-month employees an additional half-day of annual leave on Wednesday, November 23. In alignment with the state’s Thanksgiving holiday schedule, school division offices will close at 12 noon on Wednesday, November 23. Happy Thanksgiving!

We have been through one of the most intense, if not the most intense, election cycles of my lifetime, one which has divided families and communities. Healing these divides lies ahead of our nation.
Those among us who study and love history know that political divides test us as a nation. This is not the first election to do this nor if our democracy stands the test of time, will it be the last. For each weather event that affects the school schedule, the superintendent will provide guidance to 12-month employees regarding expectations for reporting to work. Minimally, notification will be available on the Closings & Delays web page and the School Schedule Hotline (434-296-5886).
