Back to School Bash on Aug. 19 – Volunteers Needed!

Back to School Bash 2022

Each year, Albemarle County Public Schools and Charlottesville City Schools join forces with several community organizations to offer free school supplies and backpacks to families in need. This year’s Back to School Bash will be held on Saturday, August 19, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Ting Pavilion in Downtown Charlottesville. In addition to free school supplies, the event will feature free sports physicals, music, games, local vendors, and more!

Teach Special Education This Fall!

Have you considered taking the next step in your career and becoming a teacher? We have a special opportunity for classified employees who already have a bachelor’s degree to become a special education teacher this fall. Taking this step means being placed on the teacher pay scale and, once provisional licensure is obtained, becoming the teacher of record in a classroom.
