As we close out the 2022-23 school year, the Department of Human Resources extends our sincerest thanks for all you have done for our students this school year. Attention 10- and 11-Month Employees: Given the multiple pay schedules that apply to our employees, we want to provide information that may be helpful for you as we head into summer. This information is in addition to the benefitsFOCUS message we shared earlier today that addresses benefits deductions over the summer. Reminder: Medical Plan Dependent Eligibility Review Starting Soon

As communicated in a May 11 Compass post, we have contracted with Part D Advisors (PDA) to conduct a dependent eligibility review for all spouses/children enrolled on our medical plan. The purpose of this review is to ensure that all dependents enrolled on our plan meet eligibility guidelines for coverage. All employees, retirees, and COBRA participants who currently have a dependent (spouse and/or children) enrolled on our medical plan will be required to participate. We are confident this process will ensure that we are covering eligible dependents in a fair and equitable manner.

Letters from PDA will go out to employees who currently cover a spouse/dependent(s) on our medical plan during the week of June 5. Continue reading

Our Nationwide Retirement Specialist, Lynn Robinette, is available for individual virtual consultations on an ongoing basis, but each month, she reserves a week of appointment openings for Albemarle County employees. Appointments are available this June 5-9!

Updated Workers’ Compensation Panel of Physicians Form

Human Resources is pleased to announce that we have updated our Workers’ Compensation Panel of Physicians Form to include our new occupational health provider in Charlottesville, Velocity Urgent Care. The current version of the form can also be accessed through our Workers’ Compensation web page.

As a reminder, we have partnered with TeleCompCare, a nurse triage/telemedicine program that offers an innovative solution for injured workers to get immediate, appropriate care when a workplace injury occurs. Continue reading

Bearettes Annual Rock Show – June 1

You’re invited! The Bearettes Advanced Treble Chorus is holding their annual “Rock Show” concert on Thursday, June 1, at 6 p.m. in the Burley Middle School Auditorium. Admission is free, but all non-performing students must be accompanied by an adult.

The event will feature 17 songs in a wide variety of musical genres; 30 vocalists; a chamber orchestra from Albemarle High School; and a professional four-piece rhythm section.

New Contract Process for 2023-24; Signed Contracts Due June 9

Teachers and other licensed positions who were reappointed by the school board on May 25 will receive their contracts in ADP by end-of-day on Thursday, June 1. This year, we will send all licensed contracts through ADP on a rolling basis between May 26 and June 1. These contracts are due to be electronically signed by Friday, June 9. Human Resources (HR) recommends checking your ADP account at the end of each day until your contract hits your account.
