Worried that you don’t have a commercial driver’s license (CDL)? That’s not a problem! Our Transportation Services Department has a training program that will allow you to earn your CDL in time to drive for the 2023-24 school year! If you already have a CDL, you may be able to start driving sooner!

1095-C Forms Now Available in ADP
The 1095-C is a tax form that we are required to issue to certain employees due to Affordable Care Act (ACA) requirements. Think of the 1095-C as a kind of W-2, but for benefits. It details your medical insurance coverage, including coverage for dependents who are covered under our medical plan, and documents the offer of coverage to certain eligible employees who did not elect coverage on the plan.

Superintendent Presents Draft Funding Request of $257 Million for 2023-24 School Year
Last Thursday evening, Superintendent Haas presented a needs-based and balanced funding request for the 2023-24 school year to the Albemarle County School Board. The request, totaling $257.3 million, includes an increase over the current adopted budget of nearly $10.9 million. The increase is supported by anticipated revenues that include an 8.8% increase in local funding and a 6.9% increase in state funding.

Mark your calendar and prepare to join us at 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, for the ninth annual WinterSongs benefit concert! The concert, which raises money for the Shelter for Help in Emergency, will bring together eight women’s choruses from schools in Albemarle and Louisa counties as well as Charlottesville City for a stirring program that culminates with 200 vocalists on stage for the finale. Since its debut in 2015, WinterSongs has raised more than $30,000 to assist local women in crisis. Continue reading

Teacher Transfer Requests for the 2023-24 School Year
Teacher Transfer Requests are now open to tenured teachers who wish to be considered for a new school assignment for the 2023-24 school year.
Requests for transfers can be submitted using the Teacher Transfer Request Form. You may select up to three schools. Human Resources will send your transfer request information to your current principal as well as to your requested schools. In addition to completing this form, you must apply online for job vacancies at your requested school(s) in order to be eligible for consideration. Unless otherwise noted, you must apply for a position within the first three (3) days of its posting for priority consideration. You are welcome to apply online for as many positions as you wish; however, guaranteed screenings are limited to the three schools you select on the request form. Other principals may screen at their discretion.
