Hello ACPS employees,

Included below are resources from Optima, our Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) provider. In addition to their crisis line and in-person counseling, Optima offers distance counseling where you can talk with a counselor using a smartphone or computer with video capability rather than making an office appointment.

Also, we are offering two webinars for Albemarle County employees on Coping with Traumatic Events: Emotional and Psychological Safety in the Wake of Tragedy. Sessions will be facilitated by one of our EAP clinicians on Monday, June 10, at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. EDT. Continue reading

As you are aware, our new time and attendance system (Kronos) will go live in July for ACPS schools and departments. Training is required for all employees so that staff are comfortable with the system and the organization can realize the intended outcomes of this project to include accuracy of pay, ease and efficiency of use, compliance, and process consolidation.

Dear Colleagues,

With the close of this school year fast approaching, I know many of you are already thinking about and planning for next year. In the same spirit, I want to remind everyone that we will be implementing Kronos, our new time and attendance system. Implementation for all employees will begin on July 13, 2019.

What Does This Mean?

Important Message for All Anthem Medical Plan Participants

Attention Anthem Medical Plan Participants: New Anthem BlueCross BlueShield identification cards have been mailed to all Albemarle Select and Albemarle Choice medical plan enrollees. Anthem recommends that you destroy your old cards and begin using these new cards immediately. Please note: Your old cards will no longer work at your pharmacy after July 1.

The new cards reflect a change to the administration of our Anthem pharmacy benefits: Effective July 1, IngenioRx will assume the role currently held by Express Scripts. This change will impact retail, mail-order, and specialty pharmacy services. Learn more about this change »

As we have worked toward that goal, it has become evident that we need more time to allow for sufficient system testing, training, and communication. As such, we have decided to delay the implementation.

Additional Holiday Leave Granted to 12-Month Employees

Happy Thanksgiving - Happy New YearThe School Board has approved additional time off for 12-month employees for the upcoming holidays, consistent with state holidays approved by the governor. In addition to closing for Thanksgiving on Thursday and Friday, November 22 and 23, the Board has approved an extra half-day of leave on Wednesday, November 21. Offices now will close for Thanksgiving at 12 noon on November 21. Also, in addition to closing on New Year’s Day (Tuesday, January 1), the Board has granted an extra full day of leave on Monday, December 31. Offices now will be closed for the New Year’s holiday December 31 – January 1.
