January ACPS TechKnow: PowerTeacher Tips

Technology Icon

Welcome to the third edition of ACPS TechKnow, a monthly newsletter to keep staff, families and students in the know about technology in ACPS! In this edition, we’re sharing helpful PowerTeacher and PowerTeacher Pro tips.

As we close out the first semester, see our PowerTeacher Tips for Staff for guidance on running reports, creating email lists, and navigating specific screens in PowerTeacher and the PowerTeacher Pro gradebook. We encourage all teachers to use PowerTeacher to access student information to aid in day-to-day tasks. There are reports that provide family contact information, demographic data, EL status, and more!

Default Hours for Leave Requests in Kronos

Time and Attendance Management

Human Resources has been working to correct an issue in Kronos that allowed employees to request leave but did not require input of hours that would subtract time from the employee’s accrued leave balance. To prevent this from happening in the future, we recently applied a fix in Kronos. Beginning Monday, January 29, 2024 (the first day of the second semester), employees who are classified as exempt will see a default number of hours populate in the “Daily Amount” column or “Length” section of the leave request for each day of leave requested: Continue reading

1095-C Forms Now Available in ADP

IRS Form 1095-C

The 1095-C is a tax form that we are required to issue to certain employees due to Affordable Care Act (ACA) requirements. Think of the 1095-C as a kind of W-2, but for benefits. It details your medical insurance coverage, including coverage for dependents who are covered under our medical plan, and documents the offer of coverage to certain eligible employees who did not elect coverage on the plan.

If you have not elected to receive paperless tax forms in ADP, your 1095-C form will be mailed to you in the next few days. If you have elected paperless forms, you will receive an automated email from ADP when your form is posted. Please follow these Instructions to view your 1095-C form: Continue reading

Final Reminder: Auto Deletion of Emails

Final Reminder: Beginning on February 11, 2024, ACPS will implement an automated email deletion process for emails that are 7 years old or older. This adjustment aligns with the guidelines provided by the Library of Virginia to ensure that we maintain compliance and efficiency in managing our digital records.

We understand that some emails may contain valuable information or records that you need to keep for your reference. If you have emails that are 7 years old or older that need to be archived, please reference the support resources we shared in our December 7 Compass post. Please reach out to your school’s assigned TSS and/or LTI with any questions or for assistance with setting up your email archive.
