Update for All ACPS iPads on Nov. 3

iPad Educators: The Department of Technology will push the latest operating system (iOS) update to all ACPS iPads on Friday, November 3. Please leave these devices on and plugged in at the end of the day. Updating our iPads helps us ensure the devices work properly for students and are safe and secure. If you experience any issues after the update has occurred, please contact the Service Desk at 434-975-9444.

Homebound Instructors Needed!

If you are a licensed teacher, or provisionally licensed, and would like to supplement your income doing homebound instruction, please contact Ashby Kindler via email or by phone at 434-249-6491. The pay rate is $30 per hour. Typically, students receive 10 hours per week of academic instruction for high school, 8 hours per week for middle school, and 6 hours per week for elementary school. Instruction may be provided in person or virtually.

Currently, we are in immediate need of a teacher for a first grader, 6 hours per week, virtual instruction preferred.

This is the last of our “Open Enrollment Essentials” messages in advance of the November 2023 Open Enrollment window (November 1-15). Today’s message focuses on Disability Coverage.

No one plans to get sick or injured, but it happens, and a serious illness or injury can result in months of disability that keeps you from working and exhausts your paid leave balances. While medical insurance helps cover your medical bills, it doesn’t help you meet financial obligations like rent/mortgage and utility bills, and it doesn’t help you buy food and other necessities.
