Today’s the day—your last day to add/drop/change a medical/dental plan or add/drop dependents for the 2021 calendar year, AND your last chance to enroll in a medical or dependent care Flexible Spending Account (FSA), as these do not roll over from year to year.

Second Quarter Accommodation Requests

With the School Board’s decision last night to move to Stage 3 for the second quarter, staff who are requesting accommodations should now proceed with submitting these requests as previously communicated.

Impacted staff who may need accommodations include PK-3, ESOL, and Special Education teachers, and the respective teaching assistants who serve these student groups. Employees in other assignment areas serving those groups also should submit an accommodation request if they feel they are unable to work in person for the second quarter. Continue reading

On behalf of the Human Resources Department and the Intranet Project Team, we are very excited to announce the launch of the new Inside Albemarle – Human Resources site. After months of work by Human Resources staff, the new site launched this morning!

The new Inside Albemarle – Human Resources and the associated HR COVID Resources sites can be accessed on your desktop, laptop, or even mobile device. (You can visit https://albemarlecountyva.sharepoint.com/sites/HumanResources/ through your web browser or even install the SharePoint App on your mobile device.) However, you will need to be signed in to your Microsoft Office account to access content. If you’re not already signed in, you will be prompted to enter your ACPS email address and then your ACPS password (the same credentials you use to sign in to your Outlook email). Continue reading

Update: Annual Leave Overages

The school division recognizes that due to the disruptions to personal and work schedules related to the COVID-19 pandemic, many employees are not able to take time off. We previously announced that the conversion of annual leave at or above 320 hours that normally occurs at the end of an employee’s birth month has been temporarily disabled. In recognition that employees may not be able to take time off for the immediate foreseeable future, the suspension will be extended until February 28, 2021. Continue reading
