Teacher Transfer Requests for the 2022-23 School Year

Teacher Transfer Requests are now open to tenured teachers who wish to be considered for new assignments for the 2022-2023 school year. Teachers who are currently on a Performance Improvement Plan or who will be on an active improvement plan for next school year are not eligible to apply for a transfer.

Everything You Need to Know About COVID-19 Testing for Employees Is Now on Our Website

ACPS testing sites are open to all ACPS employees, with or without symptoms, regardless of vaccination status. Our testing sites are available to any employee who is experiencing symptoms, has been identified as a close contact, is required to test weekly by school board resolution, or simply wants peace of mind.

Now, all the information you need to know about the ACPS COVID-19 testing program is available on our website at www.k12albemarle.org/CovidTesting. In addition to general information, you’ll find our regular testing schedule, expectations for employees who are required to test weekly, testing instructions for symptomatic employees, answers to common questions, and more. Plus, we’ll post updates to our COVID-19 Testing page when inclement weather or school holidays impact the testing schedule. Continue reading

Access Your W-2 Form Electronically Through Greenshades

Did you know that you can view and print your 2021 W-2 form (Wage and Tax Statement) online? To access your W-2 and other tax forms, log in to the Greenshades Employee Portal.

Once you’ve logged in successfully, you can locate your W-2 form under the main menu: Pay History > Tax Forms. You’ll also find a Company Bulletin on the Home screen announcing that 2021 W-2 forms are now available. The bulletin includes a link to additional information from Payroll, including instructions for Box 14 of your W-2 form. Continue reading

Interested in Designing Career Learning Communities?

In the fall of 2023, ACPS will launch new Career Learning Communities for high school students. As part of the strategic plan, ACPS will increase student engagement in their own learning, in the school culture, and in student governance. One strategy for this objective includes the development of learning pathways that align with Virginia’s Career Clusters.

The division is now looking for secondary teachers to develop Career Plans of Study for each Career Learning Community this spring. Continue reading

Celebrate Black History Month With Us!

February is Black History Month, a celebration of the achievements and brilliance of the African American community!  Black History Month was envisioned by Carter G. Woodson and his colleagues who founded the Association for the Study of African American Life and History and instituted a week-long celebration of Black history in 1926. In the late 1960s, due to the growing civil rights movement, the week-long celebration evolved into a month-long “Black History Month,” a recognition encouraging schools and communities to organize local celebrations, history events, performances, and lectures uplifting the history of African Americans. Extension of COVID-19 Leave Bank

With the expiration of the Families First Coronavirus Relief Act (FFCRA) Emergency Paid Sick Leave (EPSL) and Expanded FMLA (EFMLA) on September 30, 2021, Albemarle County Public Schools created a program called COVID Leave Bank, equivalent to 10 days of leave for all regular employees, effective October 1, 2021, and set to expire January 31, 2022. This program has been extended through April 30, 2022, for continued usage by employees who have not exhausted the 10 days of leave. Continue reading
