Important Paycheck Information for 10- and 11-Month Employees

As we close out this school year, the ACPS Department of Human Resources extends our sincerest thanks for all you have done for our students during the school year. Every single ACPS employee impacts student growth and learning and supports Albemarle County families. Your hard work has made a difference this year!

Attention 10- and 11-Month Employees: Given the Payroll Clarity transition that started in January, we want to provide information that may be helpful for you as we head into summer. This information is in addition to the benefitsFOCUS message we shared earlier today that addresses benefits deductions over the summer. (If you are a supervisor reading this, please ensure that your employees have this information, and answer their questions with the support of the HR team.) Continue reading

Special Message from the Superintendent: Employee Engagement Survey Extended Through May 12

Superintendent Matthew Haas

When I became Superintendent of Schools in 2018, my first order of business was a Listening Tour. I met with hundreds of employees and students across our division to understand how I could best support you in your work, not just in providing resources, but in helping to create a climate that allowed you to prosper and grow as a professional.

If you read my Weekly Check-in on Friday, you know that one of the most important parts of my week, every week, are my visits to one of our schools or departments. These visits are today’s Listening Tours, providing me with the chance to learn from many of you about how the school division can support you and, especially, how I can support you in the important work you are doing. teamwork icon

As we have shared over the course of the past year, Albemarle County Public Schools is in the process of building its own Department of Human Resources, separate from Albemarle County Government. Prior to embarking on this journey, ACPS and Local Government collectively decided that separate human resources departments would more efficiently and effectively serve our growing and increasingly complex workforce needs.

We wanted to share our progress with you and also encourage those of you who may be interested in serving ACPS employees in a human resources capacity to consider applying for one of our HR vacancies. Continue reading
