The Payroll Clarity Project team would like to provide you with a few updates before Winter Break. Please keep reading for information about enrolling in our new payroll processing system, making changes to 403b/457 deferred compensation elections, and a special summer savings opportunity for 10- and 11-month employees.

Enroll in ADP

On January 3, 2022, each ACPS employee will receive an email from County_of_Albemarle.HR@adp.com. This email will contain a unique-to-you registration code that you will use to create an account with ADP, our new payroll processing system. Every ACPS employee will need to complete this registration process in order to access their payroll information. Continue reading

Introducing Dan Redding, the School Division’s Director of Human Resources

Dan Redding was appointed Director of Human Resources for Albemarle County Public Schools on October 1. In this new role for the division, Dan’s immediate priority is the successful completion of a new design for the human resources function. He describes the goal as providing all employees with a service center model that will be aware of and responsive to employee needs and voice. Another key focus is the development of strategies and practices that will develop the full professional potential of employees while ensuring that the school division can attract and retain highly-qualified faculty and classified staff who are representative of the strengths and capabilities that diversity brings to school communities. Have You Completed the Transition Pay Options Acknowledgement Form?

Attention All Employees: If you have not yet completed the Transition Pay Options Acknowledgement Form, please do so by this Friday, December 3. This form will ask you to accept or decline a one-time pay advance available to all regular part-time and full-time employees. The advance, which will equal 80 hours of pay, will be distributed on January 31 and will need to be repaid by June 30, 2022. (Note: This one-time pay advance is related to our move to biweekly pay and is different from the one-time payment approved by the school board that will be added automatically to the December paychecks of all regular employees.) As a follow-up to the November 17 email message from Assistant Superintendent Clare Keiser, please remember to complete the Transition Pay Options Acknowledgement Form by Friday, December 3. All employees are required to complete this form to either accept or decline the one-time pay advance that will be distributed on January 31. One-Time Payment in December, Plus a Medical & Dental Rate Holiday in November

In recognition of the ongoing dedication of ACPS employees during the pandemic, the school board has approved a recommendation from Superintendent Haas to provide a one-time payment to all regular employees this December! Regular full-time employees and part-time employees with a total full-time equivalent (FTE) of 0.7 or greater will receive $1,000. Employees who work less than 0.7 FTE will receive a $750 supplement. Employees must be employed by November 30 and receive a paycheck in December to be eligible for this additional pay.

Also, as previously announced in an issue of benefitsFOCUS, we are pleased to share that we will be offering a premium holiday in November to all medical and dental plan participants! Continue reading

Open Enrollment Open Now Through Nov. 12!

Attention All Employees! Your annual benefits Open Enrollment window is open now through November 12. Open Enrollment is your ONE time of year to make any changes you wish to your current medical or dental elections. You can add/drop/change a plan or add/drop dependents. It’s also the one time of year when you can enroll in a medical or dependent care FSA (Flexible Spending Account). Plus, it’s always a good idea to log in to your personal Open Enrollment site annually to verify your plan elections and confirm other information about yourself and your covered dependents.
